The List - October 2012

PC games worthy of mention for this month, ordered by my interest. (Monthly US releases are only estimated, game may end up all hype and really suck).

If you think some of the big titles are missing, its because they are ...delayed on PC.  So here's what we do get.

XCOM: Enemy UnknownStrategy
A re-imagining of the original XCOM: UFO Defense.  Firaxis has the skills  and passion to finally make this stick, unlike many of the past attempts from other developers.

Dishonored - Action
An original action shooter-ish IP.   I originally thought of this as a fist person Assassin Creed, but its more then that.  Its actually more like Bioshock, with a greater level of stealth.  Its clear Bethesda wanted a story rich, 1st person action game that would compete with the Bioshocks and Deus Ex series.  With Dishonored, they nailed it.

Rocksmith Guitar And Bass - Music
Yeah, yeah, the music genera is dead.  Being an amateur musician, I always hated the guitar hero band games anyhow.  But this is different.  It requires a real guitar.  With real skills.  Damn it, you might just learn something from this game.

Need for Speed Most Wanted - Driving Sim
I've always enjoyed this series, enjoyable multiplay.  Just, what gives using the same damn name.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter - Shooter
Judging solely on single player, I don't like Call of Duty.  Spec Ops, did pretty good.  I liked the old Medal of Honor WWII series, but the last one fell short in review.  So, I can only hope, this does better, and gives us something that requires a bit more thought in a modern shooter atmosphere.
