Past the Hype - 2012

[Past the Hype focuses on the games that have been featured in the monthly The List, that failed miserably in reviews. Its my way of saying, sorry I as was sucked into thinking this game was going to be good]. All of 2012 edition.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter - This game was so badly received  the publishers decided to pull the plug on the series.  Basically declaring Call of Duty as king of the hill.  Game was described as lacking: motivation, bug fixes, plot, fun gameplay, and innovation.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier - Game launched with too many bugs, and no enhancement from the console version.  Much like Medal of Honor, the name Ghost Recon has lost sight of its original greatness.

Diablo III - Always on DRM for a single player game is just not acceptable.  In addition, they all but toss out the RPG elements, making the game more of a mindless, button clicking mine-fest.  User score on Metacritic is a 3.8/10.

MS: Flight - Microsoft cans their Flight Simulator division, then comes out with another Flight Sim game using the Free to Play model.  How bad can this turn out?  Very.  Microsoft has already ceased development of the game.  In part, it lacked the flight authenticity that the series once had.  Reality, there are other games on the market that do flight sim better (X-Plane).
