The List - June '07

PC Games worthy of mention for this month, ordered by interest and I explain why.
(Monthly releases are only estimated)

The Summer titles have begun...

Dirt
- Driving Sim
I've been itching for a good racing sim, that doesn't involve driving through the hood and pimping up my car with toy hydraulics. Previews make the multiplayer sound like crap though, which could kill the games sales.

Ghost Recon: Advanced War Fighter 2 - FPS
Great Co-op potential. This game could die a horrible death if its bug ridden like GRAW1.

Call of Juarez - FPS
Not since Lucasarts Outlaws in '97 have I seen a good Western themed game. Could this be the next, or will it fail like others have?
[EDIT: Another game squashed by reviews. This game is no way looking like an Outlaw experience.]

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition - TPS
Considered one of the big titles of the year. Extremely significant that the PC version was considered, as it wasn't originally. Capcom has been recognizing the PC a lot more lately. Claims to be a game of epic proportions, though I'm not sure why at this point. I really need to grab the demo. Really, I'm curious to see if it lives up to all the hype.
[EDIT: Looks like the reviews are looking gloomy on this one. Storyline didn't live up to the hype. When it comes to run and gun games, give me 1st person any day.]

UFO Afterlight - Strategy
Previews claim it to be like X-Com: UFO Defense ('94). A game many have hoped to see done again.
[Edit: Reviews pointing out that it didn't live up to X-Com standards. Well, that is a hard bar to hit]

Tomb Raider Anniversary - Action, Classic
This is an updated version of the original Tomb Raider. This may be a great way to get introduced into the TR Universe.

Hitman Trilogy - TPS, Bundle
I never got into the series, but at $30, this just may be the way to do it.

Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War Platinum Edition - RTS, Bundle
Although Warhammer is now shadowed by Supreme Commander, Its nice to see all 3 expansions bundled to give it one last breath of life.

Defender of the Crown: Heroes Live Forever - Strategy, Action, Classic
This game will probably bomb, but worthy of mentioning since it was one of the C64 greats. Its basically the same game, with an updated look.

I actually have this game. I downloaded from Gamers PC. It reminds me completely of the Com 64 version, just with better graphics. There is no save and archery/joust are still impossible to beat.
