So What's Left in 2008?

With this summer near its end, we're going to see an increase of game titles. The question is, I've just updated the 2008 coop list, just to find that 5 titles had been pushed back to 2009. So what's left for 2008? Here's my top 10.

10) STALKER: Clear Skies -FPS/RPG
Although the first was riddled with reported bugs, they eventually fixed the problems. What they couldn't fix, we're promised the devs have fixed them for this prequel. If you liked Deus Ex or System Shocks, this game will be your pill. Though you should probably play STALKER first.

9) Deadspace - FPS
I love horror based games. So, I'm look forward to this new IP.

8) Spore - strategy
Yep, its just #8 for me. Reason: It have the feeling this game will be more for The Sims audience. Not really my style of game. However, I'll give a try when the price comes down.

7) Witcher: Enhanced Edition - RPG
This is all about making a bad situation good. Its rather old news, when a game is rushed out the door with bugs and broken plot lines. Hence the case with Witcher. Luckily, the devs felt the game deserved better. So they fixed it up, and will ship it out once more...in addition to a free DLC for those that already own it. Thank you Projekt, for caring...that's very Stardock like of you.

6) Brother's in Arms: Hell's Highway - strategy
I really love the slower strategic shooter games like the BiA or FSW (Full Spectrum Warrior) series. A thinking shooter if you will. Not clear if the Coop is the main campaign or separate.

5) NWN2: Storm of Zehir - RPG
I was about to give up on Obsidian after their last expansion. You see, I came across a game stopping bug. So I went for support, and pretty much got the cold shoulder from email, to forums. Others had the same issue, so it wasn't just me. So, bitter taste aside, I like that this addition will allow you to pre build your party, allowing more of an old school feel, higher reliance on skills and feats, and hopefully better coop options.

4) Ghostbusters - Action
So I'm a bit biased. The Ghostbusters game on the c64 is one of my favorite games and the movies I enjoyed. So, this game is basically the 3rd movie, as it takes place after the 2nd. It is voiced and written by the original cast and creators, giving this game has major street cred. Basically, their too old to do another movie, so interactive media was the next best choice.
[Assuming is really is released in 2008]

3) Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - RTS
One, I'd feel really cheated if I didn't include an RTS. Well, I have now. Two, I love the C&C cheese factor. Three, It'll have 3 factions. Four, an RTS first, it'll have campaign coop.

2) Fallout 3 - RPG
Whats left to be said on this. Key concern, is that its written by a new group from 1&2. Historically speaking, that's been a nail in the coffin for many great series.

1) Left 4 Dead - FPS
4 person coop zombie ass kicking action. Not only does this look great, being a valve game, it could open the door for some great coop mods.

NOTE: Grand Theft Auto IV has intentionally been left off the list. For me, its too much like The Sims...only with guns. I've also left off Call of Duty 5, since I have no faith in Treyarch. I'm not all that geeked about Mirror's Edge as I hate jumping puzzles. I haven't played Crysis, so I don't care much for its stand-alone expansion.

What would have made #11? Far Cry 2.
