The List - February & March 2014

PC games worthy of mention for this month, ordered by my interest. (Monthly US releases are only estimated, game may end up all hype and really suck).

With the holidays out of the way, publishers gear up for the new year.

South Park: The Stick of Truth - RPG
A long time in dev, mostly due to the perfectionism and thoroughness of the creators.  That's a good thing.  Besides, not like the graphics will look dated.

Thief - FPS/Tactical
With a resurgence of stealth games, the Thief series has been long overdue. Now its back, in classic reboot style. Unfortunately, being late, means there are many options now, for a genera it once rode solo.

Men of War : Assault Squad 2 - Strategy
The original had a good concept of creating a massive WWII object oriented coop RTS.  The problem it was plagued with bugs, and broken programming.  A casualty of a small developer.  Here's to hoping the new engine will be cleaner.

Resident Evil 4 HD - FPS
The game that not only reinvented the series, but also did it in a way that captured both survival horror, action  and fun.  Its the very best the series had seen, and not one it was able to revive since.  This marks a re-release with newer HD elements.

Age of Wonders 3 - Strategy
A Civ like game, based in fantasy. Heven't seen the series since 2002, so its good to see it back

Chuck's Challenge 3D - Puzzle
From the maker of the classic Windows game pack "Chip's Challenge".  Back in the day,
puzzlers like this were rare.  Today, a bit over saturated.  Hard to tell if it can stand out, but worth the nod just for its legacy roots.
