The List - March '09

PC games worthy of mention for this month, ordered by interest and I explain why.
(Monthly US releases are only estimated).
March is strategy month for the PC.

Empire: Total War - strategy
Too much to say here. If you liked the Total War series, this is a natural fit. Series takes you to a time when revolutions were cool. Huge overview map, ranging from Europe, Africa, S & N America. Series introduces Navel Battles, not seen for some time in this genera. The Austrian Empire will have its day!

Empire: Total War: Collector "special forces" Edition - strategy
Hmm, I'm not sure I want to encourage this sort of habit. This has the usual special edition crap, but it also includes 6 additional units too.

HAWX - Flight arcade
Tom Clancy series dips its toes into the flight sim genera. Remember calling in air support in Ghost Recon? Now your the air support. Funny though, I didn't know the Mexicans had an air force to stand up to the US.

World in Conflict: Soviet Assault - RTS, expansion
This is the expansion to the excellent tactical game WiC. Ownership changed hands during development, not clear if that will effect game/support.

Stormrise - RTS
Generic future RTS, but introduces the concept of vertical combat in an RTS. Resume includes Total War series. Will this game get the same support Total War is going to get?

Codename: Panzer: Cold War - RTS
Looks a lot like World in Conflict. If you want more of WiC, then this is a good choice, assuming the game lives up to its advertising.

Braid - platformer
Indie game, had rave reviews from the console audience. Whatever, I'm curious. I'll give them listing having support for the PC.

C&C: Red Alert 3: Uprising - RTS, expansion
On the list because, I support RTS development. It seems to only benefit the single player, and leaves out its original strong point, coop.
