Most wanted Games of 2006

Gamespy has listed their most wanted games of 2006. This is their annual list of interesting looking games we expect to see hit the shelves this year.

2006 has been tagged as the year of the next generation consoles. The year the PC gets knocked off the map. In fact many say the only reason the PC did so well in 2005 was due to the consoles gearing up for their new consoles in 2006. Well, before I push on to the breakdown of who has the most interesting games upcoming, I should point out there are no games for the Nintendo Revolution or Sony PS3. Reason; their just not out yet, so no games have been announced.

What to expect from these 2 unknowns:
PS3 - A high price console with eye popping graphics that will last for 2 months before the PC market surpasses the graphics with an equally high priced video card. Expect the same type of games we see now with a new paint job, no originality.

Revolution - There's no question, the new type of controller is cool and will bring the interactive games in the arcade to our living rooms. As a computer gamer, I can only hope the Russian Mafia will find a loop-hole in the Nintendo Intellectual Property and ship out a USB/Bluetooth version of the controller.

So on to the list ... starting with the lowest.
DS - 2
GCN - 2
PSP - 4
Xbox - 6
X360 - 8
PS2 - 9
PC - 22

So, perhaps we should call 2007 the year for the consoles. But anyone who considers themselves a gamer, should be used to dates getting pushed back.
