IGN is in the process of revealing (in their humble opinions) the top 100 games of all time. These lists tend to crop up near the end/beginning of the year. So, its also the time I get revved up over demonstrating and counting which "platform" has the most games available on it in respect to the featured list.
Rules:
With this years top 100, I decided to level the playing field a bit. I'll be grouping all consoles to their parent company. For instance PS3, PS2, PSX will all score a point for Sony. Another example would be SNES, Wii, N64, NES go to Nintendo. For simplicity, I'll group Mac and PC together (heh, not that it really matters), but my site is called the Computer Gamer, and not the PC gamer. If a game has multiple console entries for the same parent company, then it only counts as one. I have excluded Hand held, cell phones, arcade cabinets, and emulators. Again, it really won't make much of a difference, but hand helds and cell phone games are still lame, and best classified as toys, and not entertainment centers. Besides, any respectable game would come out on its console counterpart anyway, unless they are too money grubbing. Too bad Pac-Man sucked on the Atari 2600, as that brings up the first ever "shit port" (yet, would get a point regardless if on the list).
Predictions. Well the PC because its the best (the question is by how much). Then Nintendo. Nintendo, not only has been in the market for a long time, but also is responsible for bring proprietary exclusive titles to the gaming world. Something they still practice today.
