Will Vista spark the PC gamer?

The Chicago Tribune reports that the major industry players like Microsoft, Dell, and GameStop are making a concerted effort to revitalize PC gaming. Microsoft claims that their new OS (still in development, Vista) will make the PC an extremely viable gaming system. No details so far in how. Personally, its all about the Publishers. If a publisher says make it for the PC, then it can be made for the PC. The problem, is that they don't. Infact, even Microsoft is guilty of this. If they want to help the PC gaming market, why did they pull Halo (co-op) and Halo 2 for the PC, and just put it out exclusively for the X-Box. If Microsoft were sincere, they would publish for both the X360 and Vista for all major titles.
