PC Games worthy of mention for this month, ordered by interest and I explain why.
(Monthly releases are only estimated)
Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts - RTS, expansion
Relic makes excellent RTS. They make just as good expansions. And stand alone to boot. This will add 2 more army types( a rusher and a turtler), which doubles the choices if you have the original. Hopefully the AI gets some newer code to defends their bases better.
World in Conflict - RTS
Oh God, not another RTS that looks promising. Gen X'ers love the whole Cold War never ended, WWIII scenario. Heck, who didn't enjoy Red Dawn as a kid? Now's your chance to live in that alternative universe. My concern though is haven't we seen this already...C&C Red Alert, granted that did have some fantasy mixed in.
EDIT: this game got huge reviews from everywhere. Considered an original way to present an RTS game. No resource mining to concentrate on strategy (think Total War). Puts heavt weight of teamwork and communication.
Medal of Honor: Airborne - FPS
Oh God, not another WW2 shooter. But wait, you drop from a plane, essentially picking your own starting point. Sounds I bit like a novelty, but hey, with Call of Duty moving into the modern era, this may be the last WW2 we'll see, so let's enjoy it.
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition - RPG, Bundle
This is the full version plus the 2 expansions: Knights of the Nine & Shivering Isles. Probably safe to say this has more gaming hours then any other game package. This is a great way to introduce yourself to the Elder Scrolls Universe, and to shun yourself from society.
