The List - September'08

PC games worthy of mention for this month, ordered by interest and I explain why.
(Monthly US releases are only estimated).

Dear God, the Autumn/Holiday gaming season is here.

The Witcher Enhanced - RPG
The Witcher re-released with much needed patch work, based on user responses. Its rare a game gets a second chance. If the game does well, we may see this practice become more common. If the game fails, then you can forget about a pooly released game ever getting the proper fix. To say that publishers are watching the outcome, is an understatement.

Spore - Strategy
The game that will redefine gaming? Original and risky, I'll give them that. Could end up too Sims like, however, I'm not one to run away from the word original.

Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway - Strategy
Often criticized for not being shooter enough....but that would defeat BiA's point. A first person WW2 strategy game...with coop. This is the 3rd of the series.

Crysis: Warhead
- FPS
Crysis spin-off that promises the same type of action that Crysis had, only without the aliens, and massive PC requirements.

Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Colonization - Strategy
A classic is reborn. Sid Meier remade Pirates not too long ago, and it was ho-hum. So, I'm not too geeked about Colonization revisited until the reviews are out. Thanks to Seven Cities of Gold, I do have a warm place in my heart for the subject matter.

STALKER: Clear Sky- FPS/RPG
The prequel to STALKER. How many patches will it take for this game to be good? Depends if they learned anything from STALKER.
[Delayed from last month]

LEGO Batman - Platformer
Getting a little burned out of the LEGO series, but hey its batman..and who doesn't want to see a LEGO joker, right?

Flight Simulator X: Gold Edition - Flight Sim
Gold edition combines the original FS, with its expansion "Acceleration". Acceleration enhanced the multiplay elements, while keeping the title "most realistic flight sim in retail".

Guild Wars Trilogy - MMORPG
Guild Wars, Factions, and Nightfall all in the same box ($50). A good way to get in the universe if you were riding the fence. Oh, and there's no monthly fee. However, could this be a sign the the GW universe is winding down?
