The List - October '09

PC games worthy of mention for this month, ordered by interest and I explain why.
(Monthly US releases are only estimated, game may end up all hype and really suck)
Holiday season now in full gear...

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising - FPS
Looking like it'll be one of the best coop squad based military games since the Ghost Recon series. Some high expectations for this one.

Borderlands - ARPG
Another Co-op potential. This game has various stat trees but its a FPS that has enemies dropping loot ...so its a ARPG. Graphics done in cell-shading. Claims 15 million guns alone, plus vehicles. 4 class types.

Machinarium - Adventure
Its rare I get to list adventure games on this list. This is an indie game, that has turned many heads, for its ingenious art design, and human like robots.

Fallout 3: Game of the Year - RPG, bundle
Fallout 3, plus all 5 DLC on one disk. Creators claim no more DLC for a while.

Star Wars The Force Unleashed:Ultimate Sith Edition - TPS
Its gonna be odd to see 2 Lucasarts games on this list. But there seems to be a bit more love for the PC under the new leadership at LA. This game includes a few more bonus storylines, and better graphics. Not bad, considering LA once said this game did not get made for PC because the PC didn't have enough processing power.

Tropico 3 - Strategy
I feel the 1st was better then the second, seems like the 3rd will back to its roots; As El Presidento, I plan to rule as a police state...and have the best damn vacation spot on the planet. Theme: Cold War era.

Risen - RPG
I originally looked past this game due to its Gothic 3 ties. But reviews are showing, this is worth a look for the RPG fan, that need to fill their single player RPG needs.

Cities XL - Strategy
Its been a while since I've seen a good City building God game. And what's this...its not SimCity, nor a Maxis game? Can something new be added to a genera that we all thought dead? Well, they added a MMO option for starters.

Empire Total War: The WarPath Campaign - Strategy, DLC
Empire gets its 1st DLC, adding emphasis on new native American troops and campaigns. The big question on my mind...did they really have flag bearers?

LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga - Platformer, bundle
This bundle has been on consoles for 2 years now. I have no idea why the PC is just getting the option, considering the separate games in the bundle have been out as long as their sister versions. Just knowing they've been out individually, means you can't use piracy as the reason for the delay. Hell, there's no programming involved, they just had to bundle the damn thing. Still a good kids game, for older and newer systems.
