Ghost Recon: PC vs X360

It was fun pointing out the difference between the PC and x360 for Oblivion. So let's take a look at Ghost Recon. Before I continue, let me just point out that the Ghost series started on the PC, to may it continue to thrive on the PC.

Items in quotes are from an IGN article:

Physics-
"...more prolific use of physics for visual effect... some objects in the world are given more life. Boxes will blow into the air and scatter around and vehicles are way more extensive in the number of parts and level of destruction, and vegetation will flutter around when contacted... bullets pushing palm leaves around. While it has little impact on the gameplay, it definitely adds to the immersion factor. GRIN is busy implementing Ageia physics as well for those lucky enough to have a physics processor in their system."

Usability-
As 3rd person mode is removed, the controls to lean have been added. This means more realism, and the AI can also lean around corners.

"Players will find that maps are much larger than they were in the 360 version and have been tuned and set-up to support a much more tactical style of gameplay."

"a more functional tactical map...Players can set waypoints for the soldiers to follow along with orders at the end including facing their cone of sight and whether to actively seek cover or move to attack...It's certainly a useful tool and necessary for smooth movement and advancement across a map."

Cross-com: the ability to see out another users helmet cam.

Deeper weapon load-out screen: Basically customizable weapons.

Controls -
"The mouse wheel will cycle through the squad or number keys can be hit at which point a menu will pop up on screen and can be scrolled through using the wheel again while the wheel button selects the order to give. Probably the best part of this method is that the weapon can still be used during the process in case an enemy pops around the corner while quick orders are being handed out."

Conclusions-
Were seeing better physics for the PC then the X360, even without the implementation of a physX card. PC gamers are also getting a more tactical game, forcing better communication among squads. Hands down if you want a shooter that takes some thought, play the PC version.
