The List - September '09

PC games worthy of mention for this month, ordered by interest and I explain why.
(Monthly US releases are only estimated, game may end up all hype and really suck)
We officially kick off the Fall/Christmas season with the following releases.

Resident Evil 5 - TPS
RE4 was a big hit, minus the console like controls and crappy port, re invented what a good horror game should be like. RE5 continues ride the RE4 wave, and adds optional coop to the campaign. Since its been about a year since the console release, they should have no excuse to implement decent mouse control this time.

Batman: Arkham Asylum
- Stealth, TPS
Turns out, this game has lived up to the hype in the console world. If you like the Thief or Splinter Cell series, this game may be a worthy addition to the stealth genera. And a step in the right direction for 'comic based' video games.

Tropico 3 - strategy
Wiki the series, if unfamiliar with it. This release will focus on your island during the cold war era. On Steam this month, retail in Oct.

Tales of Monkey Island, Lair of the Leviathan - Adventure
The Monkey Island story continues in this 3rd instalment.

Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim - Strategy
The first Majesty was a sleeper hit. Somewhat like the Tropico series, only more fantasy/medieval. Primarily on the list for being something different.

Order of War - RTS
Another WWII RTS. This takes the tactical angle, so no base building. Much like World in Conflict, but in WWII. Also will have a high population cap, giving it a larger scale then most RTS, much like a Total War skirmish. The problem... SquareEnix doesn't have a RTS background. Factions include: American, German, and Russian.

Mini Ninjas - Action
I'm not really sure what to make of this game, but it has midget ninja's so, its on the list.

Need for Speed: Shift
- Driving Sim
The NFS series has been in a major rut. Still unknown how it will handle in reviews. This release will focus on realism and good old fashion racing, which means no cop chases, less arcade feel, and no "underground" rich kids pretending their from the ghetto (I hope).
