Graph week

I've seen two interesting graphs this week... (click to see full size)

First from Joystiq, illustrated the average ratings of Need for Speed over time. I'm not sure how accurate they got, but seems about right, Underground really did kill the series.

The other graph was put out by 2D Boy, maker of World of Goo. As a promotion, thay had a sale where you could name the price for the game. So this is a rare glimpse into the mindset of a gamer. Keep in mind, the game is close to a year old, so the folks that really wanted it, got it. I myself picked it up on Steam when it was $9. So folks willing to pay more, probably already have. The other factor, is how well 2D Boy marketed the sale (poorly IMO). Regardless, with 57,000 sales at a rough average price of $2.03, they scored about $115,800-132,900 in sales. $5 price point proved the most profitable.
