Sid Meier, creator of the Civilization video game franchise was quoted the other day in a Game Spy interview:

"I think there are a lot of opportunities for the PC to make a comeback. It has some inherent strengths. Connectivity, certainly. Massively multiplayer games. Email! The things that a PC does well, what snuck it into the home in the first place, is still there. Certain genres like real-time strategy are tough to do on consoles. So the opportunity is still there"
